CEBU INSTITUTE OF MEDICINE is one of the recognized five Centers of Excellence, nationwide. Its over-all passing percentage in the Philippine Medical Board Examination is 95.37% from 1994-1998 and 96% in the February 2005 Examination.

In the 2004-2008 performance of the medical schools in the medical board examinations as released by the professional regulation commission (PRC) CIM has a passing percentage of 92.2% and is thus ranked as No. 2 in the whole country.
